Behind the Alameda de Hércules, this massive venue appears comedy kitsch from the lobby with chandeliers and porcelain urns. The interior is very different and spacious with modern dance beats. Weekend, C Torneo 43, T 954 909 178. Thu-Sat 2230-0700. Entry on Fri and Sat is E 10, including a drink. Open very late and doesn’t really get going until 0300 or so. One of Seville’s better central discotecas. The sound system is good, and there are often live performances. Music varies but it is generally popular house or Spanish and international pop hits. Antique Teatro, C Matemáticos Rey Pastor y Castro s/n, T 954 462 207. Thu-Sat 2400-0700, but don’t turn up until at least 0300. Cover is E 10-15 with a drink. Probably the best current option for dance with an excellent sound system and committed DJs in one of the old pavilions from the 1992 Expo. Occidental, Av San Francisco Javier 22. Thu-Sat 2000-0500. A good-looking, if comparatively small, discoteca that usually has a good DJ line-up. House music it is, generally slightly harder on Thursday and Friday. Door policy is fairly relaxed and entry is E 6, including a drink, which makes it good value compared with others in the area. Wall Street, Edificio Viapol s/n and El Palco. Thu-Sat 2300-0600. Both cost E 10 with drink at peak times. Cheaper entry before 2400. Wall Street is one of the better discotecas in the Viapol zone – a fairly upmarket venue with music centering on latino. Sometimes there are free salsa classes from 2300. El Palco is another decent option in the same zone.
