Sevilles gay scene isnt a patch on Madrids or Barcelonas, but as youd expect from a medium-sized European city, youre not short of options. Seville has a sizeable gay and lesbian population and its significantly boosted by tourists in season. Community attitudes are perhaps not quite 21st century in general, particularly among the older generations, but gay and lesbian visitors should encounter no problems at all and will feel accepted in nearly all bars and clubs.
The area around the Alameda de Hércules is a good hunting ground for both gay nightlife and gay-friendly nightlife, but there are plenty of options scattered through the city. The venues listed here are those that are predominantly gay and lesbian, but thats not to say there arent plenty of folk that stay away from the scene; most discotecas have at least an element at weekends.
Both Sevilles major saunas come highly recommended and the AireSeville guesthouse is as pleasant a place to stay as you could hope for in the centre of the old town.
