By far the best way of getting to Seville is by air; fares are usually reasonable from the rest of Europe, and you can always bag a cheap charter to Málaga, which is not too far away on the bus. If youre just visiting Seville, dont take the motor; its not a car-friendly city. The city is very easy to get around; most sights of interest are encompassed within the area once enclosed by some of the most formidable walls in Europe. Its just about all walkable, although resorting to buses and taxis is sometimes a godsend in the baking sun. High season in Seville terms is March to May; this period encompasses the most pleasant weather and the two major festivals, Semana Santa and Feria de Abril. Prices are notably higher during this time. Summer is a quiet time as temperatures rise to almost unbearable levels (52°C in 2003); autumn is a good time to visit, and winter is much milder here than in other parts of Europe.
