Romería del Rocío A picturesque, moving and seriously boisterous pilgrimage to the sanctuary of the Virgen del Rocío in Huelva province. Leaving from all over Andalucía, people descend on the small town in all manner of transport, including colourful ox carts. The Seville contingent leaves from Triana, usually on the Wednesday before Pentecost (the Monday itself, 50 days after Easter Sunday, is the big day at the sanctuary). Corpus Christi (The Thursday 60 days after Easter Sunday) There are important processions in Seville featuring a variety of well-loved religious images. Fiestas de Nuestra Señora de la Salud Córdoba’s major fiesta is a big week at the end of May. Set by the Guadalquivir, there are horse parades and plenty of dancing and drinking in casetas.
