E El Caserón, C Javier Lasso de la Vega 9, T 954 215 610. Very atmospheric place with wooden floors, old lanterns and candles. Its more a place for sitting down and having raciones, which offer better value here. The ham is good, the secreto with cumin sauce excellent, as are the squid brochettes, but its desserts such as plátano flambeado or dátiles con miel that win the day. E El Jueves, C Feria 109, T 954 903 369. A local pizza and tapas joint with plenty of space, tiles, and intricately worked light fittings. The staff are friendly, the pizzas good and the atmosphere relaxed. E La Ilustre Víctima, C Correduría 35 (sometimes called Dr Leta- mendi), T 954 389 490. 1600-0200. A popular bar and eatery that does its own thing and well. With dishes from North African, Mexican, Andalucían and Greek cuisine, its an excellent place to eat and very cheap. The food is served in attractive terracotta dishes and there are plenty of vegetarian options. Slow service aside, its a cool, but friendly place. Recommended. EE La Dorada, Av Ramón y Cajal s/n, Viapol, T 954 921 066. 1300-1600, 2000-2400. A smart, seafood restaurant, the food is extremely well-prepared and the pescado frito is a cut above what you get in most places. The fresh shellfish are another highlight as is the good service. The decor has a nautical air and the clientèle is fairly wealthy. EE Molino de la Romera, Puerta de Márchena s/n, T 954 190 084. EE El Churrasco, C Romero 16, T 957 290 819. 1300-1600, 2030-2400. Closed Aug. One of Córdobas finest restaurants specializing in grilled meats. Set in the heart of the Judería, its advisable to book, as there arent a lot of tables. The churrasco is indeed excellent, offset by a tangy sauce, and theres plenty of attention paid to the service and the wine list. EE Taberna Plateros, C San Franciso 6, T 957 470 042.
