First class and economy fares vary so you are advised to shop around and compare prices with the various coach operators. Ask about their Backtracker Pass which offers unlimited journeys on entire rail and coach network, including Brisbane, 14 days $165- 6 months $330. The East Coast Discovery Pass gives you six months economy class travel, one way, either north or south with unlimited stopovers; Melbourne $93.50; Cairns $247.50. The railway station also houses the main interstate city coach terminal (McCaffertys and Greyhound) and from there or Pitt Street and George Street you can pick up regular city and suburban buses.
