From late spring until late autumn, depending on the weather, catamarans (which also take cars) cut the journey time to 90 minutes. Ferries and catamarans arrive at the Passenger Port (Reisisadam), T 631 8550, http://www.ts.ee, 500 m north of the Old Town, which has a money exchange, a telephone, a café, a duty-free shop, a left- luggage facility and ATMs. A taxi to the centre costs 50 EEK. There are four terminals, A-D, so check where your return boat leaves from. The fastest way to reach Tallinn from Helsinki is with Lindaline, T 699 9333, http://www.lindaliini.ee, whose hydrofoil services (summer only) cut the crossing time to one hour. A return costs about 500 EEK. Lindaline uses the Linnahall Speedboat Harbour, which is about five minutes walk from the Old Town.Trams 1 and 2 go from Viru väljak to the Linnahall stop. Several harbours welcome private boats. For details, check the website of the Estonian Marine Tourism Association, http://www.agentuur.ee/sadamad or the Border Guard, http://www.pv.ee/eng/index/html.
