Turin has a fine tradition of arts and is also an unsuspected hub of stimulating contemporary arts. The permanent exhibition space at Torino Esposizioni in the parco Valentino is a constant reference point for a wide variety of exciting cultural trade fairs and exhibitions. Arts information is readily available on the walls and in the cafés around the university district north of via Po, from the tourist office on piazza Castello, daily in the back pages of the Turin newspaper, La Stampa or best of all in its weekly cultural supplement, Torino Sette, which comes out every Friday and provides complete listings and features. There is also a good Italian website, http://www.torinospettacoli.it, for the latest news on shows, timings of performances, ticket bookings and prices. There is also a good guide called News Spettacolo Torino, available free from street stands, which, in addition to arts news, has information on clubs, bars and pop concerts.
