Arcata 35, Murazzi del Po 35. Open summer only, 1900-0100. Literally ‘arch number 35’ in this long chain of bar/clubs sharing the same atmospheric architecture.

Café Tabac, Murazzi del Po 3, T 011 8123381. Open 1900-0100. A murky and atmospheric bar/ restaurant with vaulted bare-brick arched interior. Also good for brunch at weekends.

Giancarlo, Murazzi del Po 43. Open 2000-0400. Second to Doctor Sax, this is one of the more long-standing of the Murazzi venues, spread out over many floors and high-ceilinged brick-vaulted halls, always heaving with underground youth. Music varies from reggae to Italian rock and drum’n’bass.

Jammin’, Murazzi del Po 1/19. Open 1930-0230. Afro-inspired club playing predominantly reggae and other Caribbean/African music.

Olé Madrid, Murazzi del Po 5. Open 1900-0200. A lively bar-cum-nightclub under the arches with a Spanish flavour in both the snack menu and music. Also serves good pizzas.

Pot-Able, Murazzi del Po 53. Open 2000-0200. A lively watering hole and a relaxed, refreshing change from the heaving throng in the other clubs along the Murazzi.

Puddhu bar, Murazzi del Po 21. Open 1900-0300. Turin’s answer to the Paris Buddha Bar, with a zen-inspired decor and playing mellow music to drink and sink back to.

Sabor Latino, via Stradella 10, T 011 852327. Open 2000-0200. A steamy Latin bar mixing Caribbean grooves, salsa and other jives spurred on by sensuous in-house dancers.

Supermarket, via Madonna di Campagna 1. Open 2200-0400. A dancefloor that also becomes an expo space for new and avant-garde live music in a converted cinema.
