Dotted Line

EEE Vintage 1997, piazza Solferino 16/h, T 011 535948. A selection of dishes from all over Italy are offered in refined surroundings, more contemporary and therefore less stuffy than many of Turin’s establishments.

EE Il 58, via San Secondo 58, T 011 505566. More of a Parisian bistro than a restaurant, specializing in a wide range of seafood dishes.

EE Le Tre Galline, via Bellezia 37, T 011 4366553. One of the oldest and most famous addresses in Turin’s gastronomic landscape, with over 300 years of tradition under the ever-expanding belt of its owners. Far from labouring under its reputation, the restaurant still serves immaculate and sumptuous local dishes at a price tag that could be much worse.

EE Nuovo Ristorante Crocetta, via Marco Polo 21, T 011 597789. A modern restaurant near one of Turin’s main fruit and vegetable markets serving a contemporary take on dishes from all over Italy and a wide-reaching wine list to match.

EE Osteria Antiche Sere, via Cenischia 9, T 011 3854347, closed Sun, only open in evenings, no cards accepted. Stuck down a narrow alley of this former working-class district, this osteria retains its honest decor and atmosphere and serves delicious homemade regional dishes in three cosy rooms and outside.

EE Taverna dei Guitti, via San Dalmazzo 1, T 011 533164, closed Sat lunch and all Sun, most cards accepted. In the heart of 18th-century Turin, this homely tavern is dedicated to musical and theatrical shows while you eat. An intimate and flavoursome gastro-artistic experience that is recommended.

EE Villa Somis, strada Val Pattonera 138, T 011 6613086. A high-class alternative to the regional fare which can be heavy and overly rich at times, Somis offers a lighter more typically Mediterranean menu, with the according options of fish.

E C’era Una Volta, C.so Vittorio Emanuele II 41, T 011 6504589. Robust local fare in a classic setting under the arcades of the city’s central boulevards. A great place to try the bagna cauda and fonduta dishes, washed down with solid red wine.

E Gennaro Esposito, via Passalacqua 1/g, T 011 535905. A classic Neapolitan name for a classic Neapolitan establishment serving fine examples of that city’s famous export – the pizza – both crisp and slightly sloppy like they’re supposed to be and no fancy toppings, just the old favourites.
