The coach can be a cheap alternative, if you can face the long journey. Eurolines, 52 Grosvenor Gardens, London, T 0207 730 8235, http://www.nationalexpress.com, offers several departures three times a week in the summer (June to September only) from London to Valencia; the journey takes between 26-34 hours. Fares start at around £90 one-way, and £75-150 return. Good discounts for students, under-26s, senior citizens and children under 12. The main bus and coach station for national and international buses in Valencia, a 10-minute walk across the river to the Old City, is the Estació/Estación de Autobuses, Av de Menéndez Pidal, T 963 497 222.
