Most of the expensive hotels are Downtown and along Robson Street and there are some good mid-range options in the heart of town, too, as well as most of the citys excellent selection of hostels. Its possible to find a perfectly decent double room in a hotel for considerably less than $100. B&Bs, a more personal, often better-value alternative, tend to be in attractive, quiet neighbourhoods like the West End, Kitsilano, North Shore, or Mount Pleasant, a well-to-do residential area in South Vancouver. If youre on a budget, the hostels really are first class, but the better ones do fill up fast in summer. Both of Vancouvers universities offer cheap, long-stay accommodation in summer. To find an apartment, the best resource is the classified section of the Vancouver Sun. Campsites are a poor option, far from town, and often only take RVs. Arriving in Vancouver without a reservation is not usually a problem. The Visitor Information Centre is the best place to turn for help.
