An uncharacteristically handsome building whose simple and stylish rooms have wooden furniture and mountain views. Facilities include sauna, granite climbing wall and a great brew-pub and restaurant with views of Stawamus Chief from the patio. C Sunwolf Outdoor Centre, 70002 Squamish Valley Rd, Brackendale, T 8981537, http://www.sunwolf.net 4 km off Highway 99. Ten pretty and modern cabins with fir floors, pine furniture and gas fires. Situated in 2 ha of grounds at the confluence of two rivers, with a volleyball court and firepits. Eagle-watching, whitewater rafting and kayaking arranged. Onsite café. D-E Squamish Hostel, 38490 Buckley Av, T 8929240. In summer 2003, this rather shabby hostel will be replaced by a brand new, large and attractive one on the highway at the entrance to town. Accommodation is in 4-6-bed dorms or private rooms with en suite bath. Facilities include a lounge with fireplace, a large kitchen and dining room, TV room showing films, a games room, laundry and drying room, lockers and storage, a balcony with views of the Chief, internet access, BBQ and a bouldering cave. One of a chain of hotels built by the railway and reminiscent of a French château. As grandiose as they come, with impeccable service, and facilities such as pool, hot tub, gym and a handful of restaurants. Will arrange any kind of activity. Theres a full spa on site and a golf course next door (neither included in price, but ask about packages). This one is more stylish than most, but rooms are still rather small and nothing special. Facilities include an outdoor heated pool, saunas, jacuzzi and a fine bistro/lounge. Situated on a small peninsula jutting out into Green Lake, its a very beautiful and quiet spot, with lake and mountain views from every room. The 18 forested hectares also have plenty of trails for walking, biking and skiing. Theres an outdoor jacuzzi and a gorgeous lakefront dining room renowned for its European cuisine and service. C-E The Shoestring Lodge, 7124 Nancy Greene Dr, Village North, T 9323338. A great budget choice, new and clean, with common room and kitchen. All four-person dorms and private rooms have en suite bathroom. Conveniently close to town, with its own pub and restaurant.
