This 1960s modernist building with almost 3,000 seats hosts major rock and pop acts, as well as opera, ballet and musical. Richard’s on Richards, 1036 Richards, T 6876794. Attracts some of the best local and visiting acts and is a great venue to catch them: small and atmospheric with a brick wall as a backdrop behind the band, a balcony above for views, and arguably the best sound, lighting and sightlines in town. Vogue Theatre, 918 Granville, T 2804444. Receives big names, as well as a lot of tribute bands.
