Not long after Whistler Mountain closes in June, the Seventh Heaven Chair starts running up to the 45-ha Horstman Glacier on Blackcomb for summer skiing. Largely used by professionals and free-style clinics, there is also space for casual skiers ($39 day-pass). Once the snow has gone there is also some great hiking in Whistler (for recommended trails. Mountain bikers can carry their steeds on the lift up to Whistler Mountain Bike Zone, open May-Sep, which consists of 100 km of single-track trails. Lost Lake has 30 km of hiking/biking trails. There is climbing in Nordic Estates between the Village and Creekside. Fishing for trout and swimming are popular here and at a number of other nearby lakes. Alta Lake is good for windsurfing. Local tour operators will take you hiking, horse riding, jet-boating, fishing, bear-viewing, even on a 4x4 hummer tour. Finally, Whistler has a growing reputation as a golf mecca, with many new and challenging courses designed by the likes of Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.
