An elegantly restored 1931 movie house, now an Arts Club venue for drama, comedy or musicals. Vancouver East Cultural Centre, 1895 Venables, near Commercial Dr, T 2549578. Affectionately known as the Cultch, this converted Methodist Church is one of the best performance spaces in the city, thanks to great acoustics and sightlines and an intimate 350-seat capacity. It hosts a range of events, including theatre, music and dance, with an emphasis on the modern and sometimes controversial.
