An unusually good selection of cakes and pastries makes Barini, just south of piazza Bra, an especially good place for a morning coffee. Lots of Italians sit outside at this café bar, especially at aperitivo time when its a good spot for people-watching, and when the snacks are also good. This fashionable bijou wine bar has two or three tables outside, and a sunken interior with a small bar and walls lined with bottles. Winds Bar, via Matteotti 72, T 0464 505232. With tables and seats made from snowboards and bike wheels, and with just about everything else shiny chrome, Winds is a hip young bar going for the windsurfing market; which doesnt stop distinctly square, elderly Germans stopping by for pots of tea.
