Of Verona’s cinemas, only one ever has original language foreign films, and then not very regularly. Neither is there much of an arts cinema scene, the city’s central cinemas all serving a fairly bland diet of mainstream films. Even Verona’s film heritage is strictly limited to not much more than Zeffirelli’s 1968 rendition of Romeo and Juliet. Two small film festivals lift the standards slightly: Festival del cinema Africano in February and March, and Schermi d’Amore in April . Astra, via Oberdan, T 045 596327.
