Rassegna del Presepio (all month) In the arches of the Arena an international exhibition of nativity scenes takes place. Santa Lucia (10th-13th) piazza Bra and surrounding streets fill up with stalls selling toys and sweets and various other seasonal fare, theoretically based around the idea of gifts for children on the night of Santa Lucia (the 13th). Nougat stalls in particular proliferate. If you can fight through the crush there are plenty of good things to be found. La Stella di Natale (mid-December to the end of January) For just over a month around Christmas and New Year, piazza Bra gets the added attraction of an enormous white star which appears to shoot out of the Arena. One of the newer symbols of the city, it is much-admired by Veronesi and can be seen year-round on postcards in the city.
