Le Piazze dei Sapori (a long weekend in mid-May) Stalls in the piazzas to the southeast of piazza dei Signori (from cortile Mercato Vecchio to piazzetta Pescheria) bring local and national produce to the city centre, with plenty of free tasters to tempt you to buy. Live music in piazza dei Signori accompanies the event in the evenings. http://www.lepiazzedeisapori.com StraVerona (a Sunday in mid-May) Over 10,000 people run or walk three routes of varying length and seriousness (5, 12 and 21 km) in and around the city. A E5 ticket, available the day before in piazza Bra, gets you a pack of local goodies including wine and olive oil, as well as refreshments en route, and free entrance to the Arena and the city’s museums for the whole weekend.
