Verona is never overrun with tourists in the way Venice or Florence are, though it claims to be Italys fourth most visited city. It can get pretty busy during the opera season and there is also a big influx of visitors during the Vinitaly trade fair. A clement climate means spring and autumn are usually warm and sunny. Hot summers are dotted with occasional spectacular thunderstorms. In winter cold foggy weather can sit over the Po plain for long stretches but there is equally the chance of beautifully cold and crisp weather.
