We like to ensure that we produce the very best travel guides in existence.
We understand that choosing the right guide can be as difficult as making
the choice of where to go. The amount of information available on where to
go, what to take and what to do when you're there can make travelling hard
work and downright frustrating!
Getting the information that is right for you is crucial, as in many cases
your guidebook will be your only companion on the road. Footprint delivers
a travel tool that really works. Not only is the information inside accurate
and informative, but our guides also work to inspire and entertain.
We know that Footprint guides offer something different - we know this because
thousands of you contact us each year to tell us! The way we differ from other
guides is not just about the places covered. The difference comes down to
the people who make the books the way they are. The faces behind the feet
are as diverse and dynamic as the countries covered by Footprint.
We have a team of about 15 in our Bath office and everything from the initial
conception of the guides to the fine-detailed cartography takes place here.
The writing team comprises well over 30 authors and many, many contributors
- all scattered around the globe. Our authors all have first-hand knowledge
and prolonged experience of the regions they specialise in.
All of us feel passionately attached to the Footprint approach to travel -
choice, adventure, intelligent, sensitive and fun. And although, for much
of the time many of us remain desk-bound, there is undoubtedly a Robinson
Crusoe inside us all. Similarly, behind the "hard facts" is a dedicated
team of authors with a passion for travel.
